Last week we read 'The Cleanup Surprise' as part of our Integrated Inquiry on Trash to Treasure. We loved it so much, we started thinking about all of the different things we could make ourselves using some of the trash we could find at school. First we wrote a story and plan to help us work out what we needed. Our ideas were so fabulous, we decided to put our plan into action.
We had SO much fun getting creative and thinking of different ways we could use the old material, paper and boxes.
This is Cole's airport. He made a runway using paper from our paper bin, a lookout tower and a giant paper airplane!
Hannah and Kaelin loved making a house from the giant dryer box we had. Check out the curtains at the back!!
This is Tyson's 'lolly jar'. He made it using an old paper cup.
Emmy made a dolphin, which could leap out of the tissue box.
Emily made a jewelry box.
We loved make bunny rabbits using paper from our paper bin and old material for their floppy ears.
Freda made a plane using a box and paper.
Levi made a car!
Max made a car too and he used some left over dye to decorate it.
Here are some of the boys flying their giant paper airplanes.
Victoria made a 'bridal house'...it even had a veil!
Rivyn made Mrs Bovill!
We can't wait to start making our costumes for the production now and have started thinking of some fabulous ideas. What a great way to reuse our waste around school.
